To Whom it may concern; RE: Letters to the Editor.
I find myself struggling to breathe, and often ask myself; should we as Australians be required to gain a specialised university degree before being allowed to vote? Do we as Australians even think before we vote? Everyone is so quick to pass judgement on Mr Kirby's ability to reach a High Court decision or question the validity of Mr Howard's comments (or lack of as it may be) on the throwing children overboard crisis. In turn, many of us are questioning our political loyalties.
But first, let me ask; how many hours did you spend at university studying to not only become a barrister, but a High Court Judge? Let it be known that Mr Kirby is obviously a highly educated man, and was one of three judges on the panel in a case that dealt with peatophiliar. Clearly, he is not the only one required to reach a decision (in that particular case, or any other case before him). Secondly; Prior to the re-electing of the Howard Government late last year, should you have known then, what you know now, would you have voted indifferently? It is highly unlikely. As traditionally done in Australia, during times of an international crisis, we stick with what we know. Better the devil you know, than the devil you don't.
Wake up Australia. Don't let the superficial matters of the day confuse your political values. If you have nothing better to do with your time, other than to retaliate to the reports of incidents that you know, ultimately will never change, what is going to become of our future? What are we teaching our children? That's right, we'll rid ourselves of them the next time around, and watch interest rates rise...

That is the biggest load of dosh wallop i have ever heard. Are you seriously trying to tell me that you can forget John Curtin, The greatest Australian leader Australia has ever seen?

I don't think I had a clue about how the political system worked, until I did P&L. They should make something like that compulsory in school, if you want a way for people to be more informed in their voting.

I second that motion. It should be made compulsory in lower school, at the very least. I also think financial planning or some course that teaches you finance skills should also be made compulsory.

I didn't think it was that funny myself.
They did both when we were in lower school, but not nearly as detailed as the elective subjects in upper school.
And John Curtin was a legend, for telling England where to go. If only a certain glasses-wearing shortarse had the balls to say it to America.

What's America done? Or is this just a retarted act of ill-informed punk rebellion? It's cool to say "fuck".

That was my point Mark. They do offer it, yes, but it is only for one semester and if you're not a music student. Aswell as that, it is something you have to choose to do, they aren't compulsory courses.

Well not America, but George Bush. He's nuts.
Oh yeah, John Howard just sacked Bill Heiferman (If that's how you spell it). It was on the 7:30 report.
