Do you believe in the freedom of choice? Do you believe in the right to reach you own personal potentials? Are you fed up with government interference?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, now is your opportunity to voice your opinions. The Young Liberal Movement is looking to promote the liberal philosophy and more importantly, listen to what the youth of Western Australia have to say.
There is opportunity to take part in the pre selection process and forming of party policy.

That's okay Smurf Boy. Believe it or not, I suck. I also understand that finding people in our age bracket who suck as much as me and in particular share passion for sucking, is very far and few between.
Hence I thought I would let the broader community know.vote for the liberals
At least this way, if there is a possibility that anyone out there feels they swing to the right and no one is listening, there is somewhere to go.

I thought the concept of young conservative politics has been around since the hitler youth, and been made fun of ever since. Lots of young people are actively involved in politics, and not just a political cause - my cousin is only 18 and running for labor in his local electorate. And look at Natasha Stott Despoja, she entered senate when she was 23.

Natasha Stott Despoja shouldn't have ever been let out of her box. She gives politics a bad reputation.
If you ask me, young conservative politics has become more social than conservative. The word 'liberal' is often used to describe the modern young libs. Which is quite sad really. I guess the ALP might say the same thing about their party... that they are becoming more conservative that is. However, I continue to beg to differ. I am yet to see a right of the left. They're all just left... I think Brian Burk was the last one who was right of the left and look what he did to us.
No, let's have a big warm welcome the dope smoking, nut crunching, fish kissing, tree hugging hippies! God Save us all.

So what, they just smell a bit. And God has nothing to do with it.
Yes, besides left and right, there's also humanitarian and authoritarian, and just as there's a scale of left and right, there's a scale of humanitarian and authoritarian. However, most right wing pollies would also lean towards the authoritarian end, and left wing towards humanitarian. Of course, there's always exceptions to this, like the early ALP, who contributed to the White Australia immigration policy in the name of workers' rights, and John Gorton, who despite being liberal PM, made numerous contributions to australian arts and film in the late 60's/early70's.
Oh yeah, I can't wait till the next election, when I can help vote John Howard out of office. That bloke's a loose cannon.

But it's not just a the liberal thing, it's John Howard himself. To think, Gough Whitlam was sacked because he couldn't get a bill through Parliment, and yet, John Howard has done so much more.

I guess that is always going to be a matter open to discussion. But I can't see Crean doing any better.
However, I am the first to admit, I have a new found respect for Beasley. The comments he passed over the dealings with the Iraqi war issue were to his credit. This doesn't mean I will ever vote Labor and it doesn't mean I would like to see Beasley back behind the podium.

It's good to see Bomber Beazley wanting to step back into the ring, there's no way Labor will win an election with Simon Crean as leader. But if Kim Beazley loses, he's finished, and by staging a coup within the Labor party, he's going to create internal disputes that will last long after this leadership thing is over, which might affect its chances in an election.

Now that Howard has announced his plans to stay on, he is likely to see it through to the next election. The temptation to go for another successive election is probably to great to ignore. My gues is that it may happen the end of this yer, early next year.
Regardless, Beazley is a nutter. While I prefer him to Crean, Labor isn't looking like getting back in anytime soon (going on public opinion poles). So, Beazley, really should leave Crean there. Let him lose the next election, then go in after. If he takes hold of the reins again now, and loses twice in a row.... it won't do anyone in the Left any justice.

Hi boys and girls
I dont normally make a scene.........in fact I don't think I ever say much at all on this site but I think someone needs to speak out. Some people should really get off their high-horses, especially the liberal ones. (Chloe, I think that people are aware of the Young Liberal movement, it's just that they have made the smart, conciouse decision to keep well away........haha, and you though it was because they weren't informed about it! what a joke........well thanks for the info) We can only hope young Chloe doesn't get into politics................... God help Australia then.
Vote Greens
