was talking to someone today. they don't think mess is the opposite of organisation (ie; filing or something). ie: it's just a more complicated method of filing, if you know what I'm getting at. so if there's a messy room is it doesn't mean it's less organised than a neatly filed office. just the filing system has simplified the organisational process. by allocation general groups etc to things.
so my room is really the product of my highly intricate organisational skills.

I so know what you mean Bonster!!!! It's a bit like my homework diary or any notes I take! If anyone else were to read them, they would go "WTF??" But I know exactly what I am doing, where I am going and when; and I can tell you all there is to know about exothermic and endothermic reactions!!

Well i'm saying, you cant just call any "mess" organized, because if you cant find stuff or cant work efficiently within your mess, then its hardly organized. Its just the dictionary definition of unorganized.
and have filing cabinets really simplified the organizational process?

But don't you find that when you room, or whatever is messy and 'disorganised' (according to some), you know where everyhting is, making it techniqually speaking, organised. But as soon as you put it all away, you have trouble locating it? And realise you actually do have carpet on the floor!!

To be organised somethin gmust have a system of organisation. Example, alphabetically ordered or whatever. but if the system is to put the new junk on top of the old junk then you could say its still organised.... am i totally off the subject?

If you know where everything is, and you can access stuff efficiently, then how can it be disorganised?
I was just pointing out that, if you find something is organised, but not neccasairly tidy, then that doesnt mean it has to be a mess.

There comes a point when everything gets so complicated that although there might be an underlying system of organisation it's so overwhelmed that it just becomes unorganised.
Or alternatively the organisational systen gets so simple (clothes on floor, bed for sleeping, other stuff on floor too) that It's useless.

It depends on how you as a person define organisation, and what works for you. While somethign may appear disorganised or messy to one, is completely organised for another...
I think we have more than exhausted this topic
