InTerAct '02
Your opportunity to participate in a theatre skills weekend in the West Australian hills!
The Independent Theatre Association is proud to announce InTerAct ’02. Part drama camp and part workshop, it is a weekend of drama masterclasses being held over the Foundation Day long weekend, June 1, 2 and 3 at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre, Kalamunda. Imagine four classes running at once: you can take your choice of stage fights, singing, direction or acting classes. Then, after a lunch break, choose between choreography, lighting, Shakespeare or audition preparation. Break for afternoon tea, then head to a class on make-up, accents, set design or musical theatre. On the following day, do it all again with different choices!
Classes likely to be offered include makeup, lighting, stage combat, accents, choreography, singing, commercials, acting, directing and a host of others. Tutors are being drawn from professional theatre, the WA Academy of Performing Arts and tertiary institutions among others. People such as Jenny McNae, Andy Fraser, Max Kay, Gillian Jones, Don Smith, Don Allen and Allan Mathiasch have expressed keen interest.
The Independent Theatre Association have prepared an accommodation guide and will offer advice on local accommodation as there are some delightful choices in the area, varying in style and cost. Perth residents may prefer to drive up on a daily basis, as Kalamunda is just thirty minutes from the C.B.D.
Cost has been kept to a minimum, with an early bird registration fee of $40 for three days of quality instruction. So register by March 31st and get in for just $40!!
To register your interest or for further information, call Terry and George Hackett on 9293 4746 or email hackett@git.com.au
Enrolment limited to 200 places so get in quick!
